For this concert - Women of the Podium - Dr. Dawn Price, formerly the Band Director at Wingate University and a well-known clinician and guest conductor in North Carolina will conduct a couple of numbers arranged or composed by women. These pieces include two pieces arranged or composed by Carol Brittin Chambers, a highly sought-after conductor and clinician, the namesake march (Women of the Podium) by composer Virginia Allen who wrote “Women of the Podium” in 1986 as the official march of the Women Band Directors National Association, now called Women Band Directors International and the first two movements of "Steampunk Suite" - composed by Dr. Erika Svanoe.
